Based in Inverness I am now filming 40 weddings a year and very used to working with the celebrants, other photographers, the makeup and venue staff to form a team. It helps I have a professional photographer’s background. For a Church wedding I’d always speak to the Priest/Minister first and introduce myself and discuss positioning on the day so again, it’s all about working together to achieve the best results.
For many of the key points in such an auspicious day I work around the action in an unobtrusive way. But after the wedding itself there may be some staged shoots we can suggest to make the film extra special. If you are up for it I am very happy to oblige and add some more filmic elements requiring a little more preparation and scripting to add impact. We can discuss and plan options on run up to the big day.
When I speak to people who have watched my videos the most common thing I hear is “I wish I had a wedding video when I got married” It turns out it is one of the biggest regrets that I hear of is to not have a wedding video.
Not only that, but there will be moments in the day you will miss (think about when you’re having your portrait session or your family and group photos). Your videographer will be there to capture all your friends and family having fun, which you might not get to see yourself.
So don’t leave the videographer to the last minute. It should be something you consider seriously at that start of the planning stages to avoid disappointment. Like good wedding photography, videography should not be regarded as an add-on or luxury item.

Inverness is surrounded by some of the most impressive countryside and we have a wealth of stunning venues that suit a wide range of ceremonies and receptions. Several are capable of hosting both the wedding and the reception such as Ardross Castle, recently made famous by the TV Traitors series. Also noteably Clava Mains is closeby the City centre based in a converted 19th century steading, adjoining pagoda and new marquee offer flexibility in a beautiful rural setting with the city conveniences only a ten-minute drive away.
Coul House is your classic country house hotel located in Contin (just 20 minutes north of Inverness) at the edge of the Scottish wilderness.
Strathpeffer Pavilion is set in the beautiful village of Strathpeffer in the Scottish Highlands, Strathpeffer Pavilion is a picturesque, delightful venue for the wedding of your dreams.
In Inverness itself there are noteable Hotels that provide superb venues such as The Macdonald Drumossie Hotel and the very central Kingsmills Hotel. We’ve shot films at both of these a number of times. They have the experience and professionalism to support any Wedding and will make the day easy and provide everything you and your guests need.
