With wedding videography you can cut your cloth to meet your needs starting from £1,600 – for the 7 point cost package. For this one special item that will last for ever and bring you and your family and friends back to the most important day of your life it is worth this for the initial but comprehensive starter package. This option delivers a 10/11 minute film that captures the whole day from 10am to up to 9pm including bridal preparation, ceremony, speeches and the first dance. Book this at the earliest stage to avoid disappointment.

2. A Professional Wedding Videographer does much more than just capture video

You may think that with iPhones, Go-Pros and other handheld gimbals and video recording devices are such amazing quality these days why pay a professional. In short it’s not what kit you use to film a wedding, it’s how you use it that gives the best results. Also In addition to the filming there’s also the editing and this is where a lot of the skill takes place. No automated software can edit together a well-produced film that will capture the sights, sounds and the emotion of a wedding day. Not to mention tell a story!

3. You will have something you will watch time and time again

Not once, not twice, but countless times over the days, weeks, months and years. Not only that, but gone are the days when you have to watch your film on VHS, DVD or even Blu-ray with just your close friends and family. Now you can share your wedding film trailer online over social media, sending direct links over email and even just one your phone or iPad.

There is an option to have a 30 – 60 second teaser film with an express delivery so within a short period after the wedding you can provide links to a short film that will engage the viewers and is very friendly to social media.

4. For weddings I work in co-operation with the venues & other providers

I am now filming 40 weddings a year and very used to working with the celebrants, other photographers, the makeup and venue staff to form a team. It helps I have a professional photographer’s background. For a Church wedding I’d always speak to the Priest/Minister first and introduce myself and discuss positioning on the day so again, it’s all about working together to achieve the best results.

5. Intrusive is the last thing I am – unless you want a ‘special’

For many of the key points in such an auspicious day I work around the action in an unobtrusive way. But after the wedding itself there may be some staged shoots we can suggest to make the film extra special. If you are up for it I am very happy to oblige and add some more filmic elements requiring a little more preparation and scripting to add impact. We can discuss and plan options on run up to the big day.

6. You can go unplugged !

Why not make your wedding an ‘unplugged wedding ‘ where you ask your family, friends and guest to turn off their phones, iPads, cameras and other digital distractions during the ceremony, speeches or even the whole day. This means they can stay in the moment, your professionals can do their job without people getting in the way and there won’t be any social media posts of your wedding day found online before you’ve seen them first!

7. It’s the best value of the day

Why spend all that money on just one day and not have a well produced wedding film to remember all of those things you have spent your money on? When I speak to people who have watched my videos the most common thing I hear is “I wish I had a wedding video when I got married” It turns out it is one of the biggest regrets that I hear of is to not have a wedding video.

Not only that, but there will be moments in the day you will miss (think about when you’re having your portrait session or your family and group photos). Your videographer will be there to capture all your friends and family having fun, which you might not get to see yourself.

So don’t leave the videographer to the last minute. It should be something you consider seriously at that start of the planning stages to avoid disappointment. Like good wedding photography, videography should not be regarded as an add-on or luxury item.

* My drones can be compromised in some weather conditions but we always seem to get a window to shoot a venue overflight which is often the ideal accompanyment to the close ups which we can exploit in the editing suite.
